Default Fuel leak problem. HELP.

Hello to everyone,

Sure hope you can help out. I am new to this website. I have had my 2000 A4 (2.8L 5 spd) for 3 mths now after having sold my Subaru Legacy GT. I like this car much better but have run into several problems which have me second guessing this purchase. Anyhow, currently I have noticed some fuel spots on the driveway in front of theright rear tire. Upon futher investigation it appears that the fuel is dripping out of some kind of fittingon the lower right fwd corner part of the tank. There is some kind of component there. My question is.....What is that part? It doesn't seem like a big deal to change, its just a fitting. Can anyone help, please.

Thank-you,
Bandit

Ok I just found out that yes indeed it is the fuel filter.Actually I don't think its the filter itself, its the banjo fitting going into the filter. As you can see its quite corroded thanks to all the road salt they use here. However I may as well change the filter anyhow. I found a great link on how to change it.

That is the fuel filter...The bolt looks pretty rusted.
Might want to take it somewhere.
