but honestly if you can get it, GET AWD. its the best of both worlds. no need for anything else.

I agree, I don't know why people say FWD is better in rain. Depends what you mean by better I guess. FWD is always safer than RWD in my opinion. But RWD is faster in rain and dry for standard production car, and even in snow if it's propperly designed race car with special tires, AWD might be better in snow though even for race car. Or even FWD is better in snow, guess it depends on track and car. Of course, AWD is less efficent use of power and weighs more and more expensive. I (personally) would rather pay 1K or 2K for lighter car or more powerful engine than heavy and less efficent AWD.

Depends on driving style. My uncle has a A8 in Europe and it's perfect for him. He can fit in it for one. And he just drives fast when he's going straight. And he floors it every time with no wheelspin and he doesn't have to worry about nothing. I rather get a Mazada RX-8, if Audi made it or not Japanese.

OK, the voice of reason here lol. I've had the lot, front wheel drive (ford ST24 2.5 V6 - lovely sounding V6), rear wheel (BMW's 325) and AWD (my current love - S4 4.2 V8 AWD). Without doubt AWD is the ultimate daddy of all and will leave all in any adverse conditions. However, not given the choice of AWD it has to be RWD cos with todays technology safety is handled nicely by the electronics and any car feels a whole lot better being driven from behind. But BMW do cheat a bit though in that their rear wheels are wider than the front (cos they have to cope with the traction issue).

Anyway, AWD is the only real option.!

 

im in to the street racing rice thing so i liek the front wheel drive cars better. for some reason it doesnt seem like they spin as much as the mustangs camro's and such other domestics
