cylinder head removal

cylinder head removal
I'm attempting to remove the bank one cylinder head on a 01 a6 avant 2.8. I can't find a useful video and bentley only seems to tell you how to change the timing belt and remove the valve covers. On a side note why is bentley so highly regarded? For the money you pay for it I was expecting a haynes style tare down and rebuild. Not a basic maintenance how to. Anyhow does anyone have a write up or anything on what exactly it takes to to get the heads off of that thing. I've got the intake manifold disconnected. The bolts off of the exhaust manifold where it attaches to the pipe. The three bolts in a triangle pattern. The head bolts removed. The front of the head comes up but the back is still fairly secure in place. What am I missing that is holding it down? Or what else needs to be removed to get it off? Thanks

It's probably stuck on an alignment dowel at the back. But.. Double check that there isn't one more bolt hiding somewhere before going any further. If you can lift the front of the head off the block a bit, see if you can wiggle it a bit (the head, not your ***, LOL) and to see if the dowel will let go. Don't lift too far as to **** the dowel in the hole.
The Bentley manuals are what Audi uses for their shops believe it or not. They are not written for the beginner, I'll tell ya. LOL Check in another section to see the head removal part. The timing belt and cam stuff is in a section by itself.

It may well be the case that I am an idiot but I have spent a couple of hours sifting through that book for useful information on head removal and have found nothing. Would you be so kind as to direct me to the section that contains such information.
