RE: code p0455 and fuel prob.
i got the car back testerday,it handled gas fill properly.they fixed the lk recall, and said my code 0455 was the purge valve which i replaced last year,so i have to get receipt and goto battle with who sold it to me.funny thing is they would not give me hard parts so now i wonder if that was the prob. i'm partly pissed and part just over it . also now the idle is dumping to under 500 when i stop anywhere, just for a second, but it doesn't feel right.they also said i was getting a trans. code for brake light switch and the trans gets a signal from the brake peddle switch which triggers an internal trans brake?an extra 140 for a brake pedal switch installed, thumbs up,rediculous.

RE: code p0455 and fuel prob.
I read this long post and working on the car trying to isolate the root cause behind the 0455 fault. AS with the other guy, no leaks were noted all the way from the tank to the intake. The resistance of the purge valve passed the 20-28 OHM check. I connected leads to the valve and applied 12 volts, the valve and solenoid functioned. The voltage coming into the purge valve was a steady 7.8 volts (0-12 should be okay). Here is the wierd part. Intermittently, you can hear the soleniod clicking rapidly (>2 clicks per second) indicating the valve is cycling. This should not be happening. The valve should be staying open. This might be the fuel relay, but I think that something other signal must be making the relay open and close the contacts. Anybody have a copy of link to the wiring diagram for this purge system? The bottom line is that the valve is not be held open long enough to allow the intake to pull the vaccum from the tank. The question is why?
Now one stupid question - where the hell is the purge canister??
