Audi A6 Ticking noise coming from rt side engine compartment when excelerating while turning
Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me diagnose a ticking noise on my 98 A6 2.8.
For the last week I have been hearing a ticking noise coming from the passenger side engine compartment. This ticking noise sounds similar to tappit noise when a car is low on oil.
The noise accures only when excelerating and turning left or right from a dead stop.
Anybody got an idea where I should start?

when you say ticking, im thinking of a a torn cv boot, take a quick gander under the car and look at the axles.

yea you need to be sure if the sound is an engine noise or a suspension noise...
clicking can be heard from outter CVs during turns
clicking can be heard from inner CVs during straight driving
valve ticking... you'll generally hear at a slower rate than RPM speed. because Cams turn at 1/2 crank rotation.
