Audi 20V Timing
Hi guys!
Sorry for the long post.
I have a 89 90Q 20V and I need help with timing everything up.
The car blew I head gasket so had to take out cams and everything.
With setting flywheel at TDC where is the pin on the flywheel supposed to be referenced to? I assume it is supposed to be lined up with an edge of the hole, the hole that is closest to the ground (excuse lack of knowledge).
Also with camshaft timing. The reference dot on each sprocket is supposed to be lined up with the front edge of the head (where valve cover gasket goes)? I assume when installing cams these dots face each other and are inline with the machined edge?
Also, the camshaft bearing caps, what is the tightening sequence of these and the torque values? I assume the numbers 1 - 10 start at the camwheel side. For 6 through 10, do they start at front of the engine or snake back to the front?
Thanks in advance guys!
Jay
