Any luck with those MIL eliminators?
Was wanting to pull the cats out of my exhaust on an 03 A6 4.2L, but understand this will throw a code on the cats not working. There's lots of places selling these MIL eliminators (the spark plug fouler type) that pull the cat O2 sensors out of the direct exhaust stream and fool the ECU into thinking the cats are in and in good working order. Has anyone tried these and had any luck? Very hard to find feedback on these for some reason. Thx!

yeah.. d-catted the exhaust on my 2000 volvo T6 S80 and no check engine light. what it does is limits the amount of flow to the sensor and so it doesnt see as much movement, as would gases that are cleaned up by a catalytic converter cause a sensor to see...

not yet.. gonna gut my converters when i do a tune on my 2000 s4 but not as of now.. id say your gonna run into less problems with the audi. the me7 operating systems on the volvo are stupid strict and monitor everything and adjust for everything.. the audi seems more user friendly when it comes to mods....

the oxygen sensors have nothing to do with CAN operation. that is just a high speed communication system for all the the different control modules. any O2 should just screw into the eliminator and be fooled. now the mil eliminator may not work with lambda sensors or some of the newer 6 wire sensors.. im not positive about their theory of operation or how less exhaust flow will trick them..
