Actually stock boost would refer to the turbo charger itself. Every turbo has a minimun setting(a factory setting or stock setting) that is will run. Generally that setting is 6.5 psi. Then the company using the turbo, through the ecu will set the level of boost that the car is going to run of the show room floor. now the advantage to a factory turbo that is controlled by the ECU is that if you can find a piggy-back system for taht specific car you can control the boost as well as all the other goodies of a piggy-back system. Unfortunatly, I have yet to find a Pigg-back system for an audi.

 

if you have 1.0 bar chip means it boost 1.0 bar of pressure which is ~14.7 PSI, plus the supporting mods i would guess around 16. I have no chip and I boost 6-9PSI

who ever said stock boost for a audi is 18psi is retarted!! this isnt a evo or eclipse, this is an audi and stock boost is from 7-8 psi i got a neuspeed (race 1.0 bar)chip and im boosting a 16psi in my 98 A4!!!! and im a newbie and i know these things!!

 

lol... almost all stockcars boost under 10 psi unless you drive an STI or EVO...
