A6 rear door locked shut - how do I open it?
Hi I have a 2000 A6 Avant, the driver rear door is locked shut and I cannot open it. The central locking button tries to lift up the door button, and when I use the internal door handle it lifts up but does not stay up.
I took to my local garage and they could not do anything with it. I have read elsewhere that it is possible to try and free-up the door lock mechanism once the internal door card is removed, but to do this I need to open the door and remove the 2 screws hidden by the door jams etc.
So, can anyone help to advise how I can either open the door while in this state, or remove the internal door card without the door open?
apologies if this is answered elsewhere but if it is I could not find it....many thanks

Try following:
While in the car (on back seat, preferably), close doors and lock the doors using remote.
Then pull the door handle - the latch **** rises up. Grap the **** and release handle. Don't let the **** retract. Now, open the doors using the remote. The door should (but only should) open. Take the door apart and fix what needs to be fixed.
If this didn't work, you need to pry the door card somehow open. Or tear it down ...
