A3 Windshield Replacement

A3 Windshield Replacement
Hello,
I own a 2006 A3 and I need to replace the windshield. One Audi dealership say that I cannot move the car for 24 hours, the other dealership says that after 3 hours it can be moved.
I have already purchased the Audi windshield and it is sitting in my garage, I want the windshield guy to come to my house, is replacing this windshield typical to some other model, or would I be best going to the dealer for this thing. I am under the impression that the dealer is just "calling a windshield guy" to come and do the work, is this correct?
Any help is appreciated, I am in the LA area if you know of any good "Audi Windshield" guys, thanks
Aaron

RE: A3 Windshield Replacement
Thats exactly it. There are two types of glue. The quick set stuff alows you to drive the car immediatly but it costs more to use. Call around. Most glass places work out of a van or truck and can replace a windsheild on location.

RE: A3 Windshield Replacement
I need to replace my 2001 allroad windshield. I am researching prices to determine what company to perform the service (Safelite AutoGlass, dealer, etc.). Are there various grades of glass I could end up with if I do not specify, or is there only one glass company that makes windshields for all allroads?
