Please please help, Was told cylinder 4 needs plug and wire. But I'm not sure where number 4 is . can anyone help. 2004 3.0 Q

my car is a 2004 A6 3.l AWD, Auto,

 

if your at the front of the car cylinders 1,2 and 3 are on the passenger and 4,5 and 6 are on the driverside . 4 being the front on the driverside. and just one cylinder needs plug and wire??? just change them all . its kind of stupid to just do one. and i think you may have coil on plugs, so you might need just the one coil and one plug.. that makes more sense but id still change all the plugs and the one coil.. but thats me reading into whats going on with your car.. i mean did you have a P0304 or what??

thanks. I will replace all plugs. Number 4 is the first one (facing the car) on the driverside . Correct ?

Also, I was told to replace the crank position senor ??? Not sure why.

 

do you have some codes? i would ask whoever told you to replace this stuff what where the codes or what where the symtoms that pointed to this as a resolution for your problems..

 

if you are sitting in the driver seat its the cylinder furthest away from you on the left.. or if your outside car with hood open looking at engine itll be the first one on your right hand side..

thanks all, replaced all plugs and # 4 coil. Bigern45 , the service shop did not give me any codes. They are in springfield va. Just to replace One plug and one coil was $732.00. Got the parts for $86. and did it my self ...Thanks again and the trans filter and fluids are next but not sure where the filler plug is in the trans

 

lol.. yeah.. someones making some money.. what type trans is it? cvt or the automatic??
