2002 S6 ELECTRICL DRAIN! PLEASE HELP!!!
Hey Guys,
I have a 2002 S6 Avant w/ 87k miles, excellent condition, but has a perpetual problem w/ power drain... I have installed 3 new batteries, so thats not it. From there we have basically check EVERYTHING to see if there are any shorts in the system. I call our local Audi dealer to check for service bullitins, etc., none came up, but suggested it make be the brake light switch. Tried that and was not the gremlin.
ANY ideas or help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks in advance.

RE: 2002 S6 ELECTRICL DRAIN! PLEASE HELP!!!
I haven't had any such problem with my Audi, but I had a similar problem with a previous car. In my case it turned out I had a bad headlight switch. Thereis a way to diagnose a problem like that, but it'spretty tedious.
Using a multimeter, check the current that's flowing out of the battery when the engine is off. Then start disconnecting switches (lights, windows, etc.) and/orcomponents(nav system, audio system, etc.)one by one until the current stops flowing. When the current stops, the last thing you disconnected is the culprit.
You'll need a multimeter, lots of time and a case of your favorite beer.
