'02 Audi A4 1.8T Possible bad cv axle
I was finally able to get under my car and look into what the possible cause of vibration when I accelerated my car is. After looking at a few threads of people with similar problems, it seems that one of my CV axle's is bad.
The vibration seems to come from the drivers side whenever I accelerate my car but when I spun the wheel on the drivers side, the shaft seemed to work just fine and there also wasn't much play when I tried rotating the shaft clockwise and counter clockwise.
When I went to over to the passengers side and spun the wheel, the cv shaft did not spin and there was also some play when I tried rotating the shaft clockwise and counter clockwise.
Is this the main culprit of my vibration or has anyone experienced any other issues like this that came from another area?
Any recommendations on CV axles to purchase or should I go with one directly from the dealership? Any insight is greatly appreciated!
