The lights in my sig pic are OEM reflectors. The projectors are much nicer looking and the beam pattern is a huge boost.

As for the local cops, I still think you'll be fine. HIDs are more common than ever now, and the police probably see and deal with more cars than anyone else, so they certainly know that. They also know that higher-end cars such as Audi are the most likely to have them. Seeing one more Audi with HIDs shouldn't even register on them. Hopefully anyhow - mount your ballasts somewhere they're not really visible and if someone ever gave you trouble about them, just tell them, "It's an Audi - they come with these lights." They'll likely drop it.
I know the BMW HIDs are 4.3k but their projector lenses have a tint to them, which is why they appearblue at a distance but more white when you get close to them. Do the projectors you have give off the same affect?

Well the day before my headlights arrived one of my HID bulbs blew out. I'm on halogens right now until I order new HIDs. But I did install the working HID in there to see how it looks, and it looks really good - not apparent that it's aftermarket, even though they're 6000k temp. PM member Hiwords for pics of his - he's got 6000k in his OEM projectors and they look natural, not aftermarket.

4300k will give you the maximum amount of light output possible from an after market HID kit. It also happens that it's the whitest light produced from the kelvin sprectrum. You may see a tinge of blue depending on the design of the projectors shields. I haven't seen them yet, so I couldn't comment on those specifics. If you're trying to achieve a "blue" characteristic to your lighting than it's for esthetic and not function purposes.
