gonna debadge tomorrow...

I actually recall the 4th generation Camaro's having black badges even on black cars, and now I'm thinking about what my badges would look like black on a black car, while some remain chrome. Maybe I'll spray one and hold it up....

Chrome is dead! Black with black or dark gray badges looks great.

Everyone blacks out their cars here. I live in Navy boy city with a ricer population that could fill all the Fast & Furious movies. Not to mention a wanna be thug population that ghetto rigs everything with chrome everywhere. I'm a minimalist and like balance. I actually was going to black a lot out, but want to stand out between all the other blacked out cars and all the ghetto'd out chrome cars.

well just debadged my A6 today. fishing line, a plastic putty kife, and some gas on a rag works fine. the putty knife makes it cake. gets the bulk of the foam adhesive off, the gas breaks it down some without dissolving the clear coat like acetone or mineral spirits, major components of goo be gone, etc., for finishing touches, 3M Imperial Hand glaze, amazing product, about 30 bucks a bottle here, but well worth it. shitty camera phone image to follow.

Yeah well it helps that your car is a true sports car too. And it looks sleek.
I think once you head into sedan and econ-box territory, then it's ricerville. Which is what I'm trying to avoid. I kind of wish my headliner and pillars where black to match my interior, but I guess that only came on the S4 models.
If I could do brushed satin aluminum, I would over chrome. Although my obsession with it in my home might not translate as well in real life to my car like I think it would in my head.
