Default Double Din Mount

I have a 2001 B5 S4, and I want to install a Eclipse Double din unit such as the AVIC 5495, but cannot find a faceplate for it. Does anyone know of a source for a mounting/faceplate for an S4?

Dash kit
They are alll over Ebay. I have one I might be selling for say, $25? I decided not to go aftermarket on my car so I don't need it. I just removed it from the package and test fitted it. You can remove the pocket and cut out the center bar for double din.

Will that Schoshe unit work with a double din head unit? It looks like it is a single Din with a pocket. Maybe you can just cut off the divider?

Yeah, I just said that. It even says in the included instructions to cut out the divider for double din apps.

I'm almost certain that scosche kit DOES NOT fit. This is why I had to make my own. If it's the one I ordered, it's too narrow at the upper edge, and caused me to go custom:

Let me know if you've got any questions.

If the b5 radio opening is the same as the b6 (I don't know) then it will work. I test fitted it in my B6 and it was perfect.

My 2000 (B5, right?) S4 Scoshe kit didn't fit. I was going to do the exact same thing, modify the single DIN opening for a double DIN radio. I got screwed out big time on ebay with shipping costs and the seller's incorrect ad (said it would fit a 2000), etc. I had to file through PayPal, etc. Big mess, and hence my caution to just say one way or the other. I suggest going to a local shop and checking with them BEFORE you buy the kit...or make it look sexy with a custom install.

Alright, it's confirmed....the SINGLE DIN kit from Metra, P/N: 99-9101 CAN be modified for double DIN applications. How do I know, I just did it!

Cheers,
Matt
