Default the 'big 3' wire upgrades and capacitor installation

i have a 2008 A4 with symphony radio and am getting an amp and subs installed next week. im also thinking about adding a capacitor soon after. i just wanna know if anyone has done and recommends upgrading the big 3 wires in the engine bay as well. would it make a worthwhile difference on a modern audi electrical system? im just doing a simple system (1100 watts max and ~300 watts rms) so i dont wanna waste my time and energy if its not necessary.

also, would a capacitor with led lights be on all the time, even with the car and system off? would that drain the battery? would the cap. need its own remote power wire? (ive seen some models that have some)

thanks for helping a newb

First I would wire it up. If you have no dimming screw the cap. Even when the battery gets weak and time for new just get a yellow or red top optima and roll

I've installed and ran many systems. 2-3 amps. Blah blah and never ran a cap or upgraded power and ground underhood

But I also always ran 00 gauge power and ground for my amp.

the amp i got recommends 8ga wire so thats what i bought. i didnt wanna go bigger cuz i did that on my last amp and when they installed it, they had to cut it down to fit in the hole. of course they left the tiny little trimmings stuck in the carpet too.

i'd say run a 4gauge to a distribution block and run the 8gauge to the amp if not just use the 4gauge if it fits in the terminal. i was using 4gauge in my setup no caps, and a yellow top for a 750rms system no dimming. also i would never recommend a cap its useless.

Capacitors are a joke... don't bother, unless you just think they are cool.

for 300W RMSm just run your wire and go. No fanciness needed for that.
