I'd like to know too. I hardwired mine into my Saturn (tapped into radio circuit) but just got a 2002 A4 and want to transfer it there.

Some other threads mention wiring it into the sunroof or homelink power in the headliner, and others say to run the wire down the A pillar down to the fuse box. One question I have is, is it possible to run a wire down the A pillar if the car has side curtain air bags?

The reason I ask is because I have the V1 concealed display and want to mount it low, so I have to get a wire down there since I'll have my V1 on the visor.

I read an article online about someone's install. I know there is a tutorial out there someone. As long as you don't have the avant, you can get the power "hot" wire from the rear wiper fuse spot, and then just ground on one of the surrounding bolts. As for running the wires, you gotta just get creative and stuff it up along the headliner/windsheild area.

don't screw around with wires near the side-curtain airbags, you're right to think not to. They airbags could very easily snag on the wires, not coming down correctly.

i just took apart my interior lighting and sunroof control unit, and hardwired it right into there. it ended up being real easy.

I'm about to do the same for my Valentine 1. Care to share which color wire and what year your A6 is? I'm going to try a cut-in adapter I ordered straight from Valentine 1 along with making a custom lenght RJ11. Thanks.
