So step 1

I rinsed down and snow foam the whole car leaving for a few mins to degrease..

then i was using Chem Guys citrus wash and clear, using the usual two bucket method, with grit guards and megs wash mitts ( different for roof and upper and lower car)
dried using sonus der wunder drying towel.

Clayed whole car using Sonus ultra fine detailing clay and sonus detailing lubricant, and snows micros fibre cloth to remove.

also clayed windows to remove and excess tar/grime from the road.

Then washed fully again using the same products

I then started to polish the bonnet, with poor boys SSR2.5 (super swirl remover, slight abrasive polish that breaks down into an ultra fine paste irradicating and swirls.

Then it started to rain so only the bonnet got finished. with the rest of car having to wait until tomorrow

here a few pics of how it looked

Cool

So it stopped raining and i got on with it.

I gave her another quick wash and rinse down to remove and sand of grime the rain had left.

I then went on to use a poor boys SSR 2.5 polish to remove and swirls left in by the previous owner.

i then used a sonus paint work cleanser, is a very fine abrasive polish removing very fine blemishes and scratches, and also helps with that deep wet shine that everybody wants. i suppose its a pre-wax cleaner.

i then used my favourite wax, chemical, Petes 53 black pearl signature paste.it has a massive 53 percent Brazilian No. 1 white carnauba content leaving a deep shine.

i applied 3 coats all over the car and 4 coats on the front end

i then used a product that is new to me, but have heard many great reports.
Gtechniq G4,G1 and G2.
I first clayed my windows, to remove any sap, or excess road grime. then cleaned using Gtechniq G4 polish- which on its own left a very clean smear free finish.

Then i applied 3 coats of G1 leaving 5-6 mins between each coat and 15 mins curing time to the windscreen and just 1 coat to all other windows.

once cured i used Gtechniq G2 residue remover to remove all of the G1. this left a very clean water, dirt and grease repellent finish.
i am yet to "test" as i have had no rain yet, but i shall keep you informed as to when i do. should work at speeds above 25MPH and create a permanent beading

i then moved onto the rims.
i took each rim off for a full inspection, to notice that while the tyres seem to be brand new, they are complete *****. so on my agenda today is to get 4 new continental sport contact 3's.
So i degrade the rim with 10:1 snow, then using 15:1 chem guys blue wheel cleaner i got to work.

after cleaning throughly with a detailing brush and megs wash mitt, i then dried using a sonus der wunde towel. ready to apply the chem guys wheel sealant. i like this as it stops as much brake dust, road grime and general crap sticking to your rims. plus it adds a nice subtle shine.

i prefer i apply using a brush although i does say a micro fibre is better.

Allow this to cure for about 15-20 mins and then remove using a micro fibre cloth.
i used megs ultimate tyre gel with megs tyre gel applicator on the tyres, although i didn;t go crazy as i will be replacing the tyres today/tomorrow anyway.

I think you're wasting too much wax, a thin coat is good enough.
