Did you take it to a detailer? What was his opinion and what did they do to fix it? Inquiring minds want to know.

No, I ended up buying a Makita rotary, Meguiars M105 compound, M205 polish & a few different pads and tried it myself. I know Audi's have a hard clear, so I wasn't too worried about burning the paint and just took it reaaaaal easy. I definitely improved the look, but they're not gone - I'm just not sure how many passes I can do - that's where lots of practice and experience comes into play. I probably should've just paid a few hundred to a detailer to get it done, but instead spent a few hundred on a tool I'll have for at least a decade or two and can use it on my vehicles whenever I want. Worth it to me, but I'm a DIY'er almost to a fault.

If you are going to compound a car for the first time, do a small test section by hand. Then, if you need to be more aggressive go with a random orbital polisher. High speed buffers are very dangerous...and any damage done to clear coat or paint finish is irreversible.

After the compound is wiped away, give the car a good rinse and dry. You want the surfaces to be clean before you apply the wax coat. Nowadays, you can get a polish/wax in one. Pro Chemical's #1 polish. www.prowax.com

I just wash the entire car by hand using zip car wash and wax, then dry the entire car down with an absober including the door jambs. And use a paint cleaner , polish , then I seal it with ZYMOL!!! And my 18yr old Audi 200 outshines many cars around me Ive been told! Just wash every 2 weeks and hand dry!! I just made a 1986 MERCEDES 300e look brand new just by hand compounding, paint cleaning, polishing compound, and hand applying ZYMOL! people thought I had it repainted! It was a red car.

I have the same problem at the front of my car. My color is black pearl and it looks very bad. there are numerous white spots and after cleaning they look more visible. Someone suggested me to take it to a body shop and get it buffed up. Is there any other easier alternative?
