Default How reuseable is a clay bar???

Hey folks, I just bought a Maguire's Detaling clay kit and I see that there are 2 clay bars. I'm just wondering how reuseable these things are. If they're not then I don't see them as that helpful. Also, has anyone ever used Mr Clean eraser to get stubborn stains off of their paint finish???

Inspect the clay surface often and fold (knead) clay to present a clean surface to the paint to avoid scratching; when the clay surface becomes really soiled (it becomes more difficult to find a clean surface by kneading, discard and use fresh clay. Do not over use a clay bar; expect approximately 5-10 uses from a single, 8 oz. bar

Once the clay becomes soiled enough that you don't want to use it on pain surface use on glass and then on wheels surfaces...then discard

Mr Claen is an abrasive and may scratch your paint so be prepared tp use an abrasive polish after using (have you considered using Meg'sScatchX?)

Thanks TOGWT,

Now that I know, I'll use the Mr. Clean with my rims and whatever else but not on the paint. I haven't tried either on paint yet because I think it's gonna be a LOOOONNNGGGG Job. (thorough wash, rinse, clay, wax and buff) but I will try it soon!

I think I have Mother's scrath remover but I just discovered that a light 2000 grit wet sand and rubbing compound will get most light to medium scratches out permanently.... As long as it's only the clear coat that's scatched you're ok with this method.

Make sure surface is VERY clean and WET
Cut a small peice of the 2000 grit sand paper and lightly rub over the scratch till it comes out.
Dry the area, then use a bit of rubbing compound to even everything out
Wax and buff
GONE!!!!

Like said above, you can get several uses (all the paint on your car) out of each bar. Just keep kneading and turning the clay as you go to keep it clean.

you can use until you start seeing IFO no matter how many times you flip the claybar.at that time get a new one risk getting swirlmarks in the paint.
