Default how to repair scratches on clear plastic?

i bought some aftermarket tail lights (they aren't that ricer) and before installing them i had to do some wiring work. So, not thinking that they would scratch, I set them on a steel topped work bench. Finished product - there are a lot of scratches in the center of the light, on clear plastic. none of them are very deep, just noticeable.

how can i get rid of them? is it as simple as spraying a clear coat over them or is there more to it?

You can't spray clear. They need to be buffed off using a rotary or orbital.

You can try some Meguiars Scratch X and a microfibre and a LOT of elbow grease for some minimal results.
