Default How to clean/polish exterior aluminum trim

I bought a 2005 A6 a few weeks ago and the aluminum exterior trim looks a bit cloudy. How do you veterans clean/polish the exterior aluminum trim? If you have specific products you love, I would appreciate that information.

If you can find Honda Pro Polish, it works great. It is made for motorcycles, and Honda dealers sometimes carry it. The only problem is that its been banned in many states. The can is pink and black.

My trim is like that in some spots also. I've been told that once it looks like that, there's not much you can do about it because of something with it being plastic protected and it's the plastic creating this problem. I thought about just replacing it but those thoughts were shot down also by someone saying there is worse problems associated with doing that (water leaks, rust). So now I've even contemplating trying to find a way just to make all of the trim look like that or paint if so it will at least be uniform in color. If you figure something out please let me know! Good luck!

I gather you are using it on the entire car? ...or not?

Are you hand applying it?
