Terrible experience with McDonald Auto Audi in Denver, CO
I have been a happy Audi car owner since 2004 and recently traded in my 2007 for a 2010.
Service Dept Complaints:
1. The people were always nice, but numerous times the loaner I had reserved wasn't available when I arrived which cost me about two hours of my working day each time this happened? It could have easily been avoided had they called me on the morning of the appointments to tell me they were short cars.
2. Another time they actually crashed my car while fixing it.
Sales Dept complain:
So it's time to trade in my leased 2007 and I decided I would put the exact model out to bid. During this process, I heard about the American Express Dealer network. I received 3 prices from the dealers, including one from McDonald Audi. I went with the low bidder who made a deal with us, who agreed upon ALL the figures, yet we when the car arrived, they added more costs - and I quote them "there are $489 in undisclosed fees we don't tell people about" until they sit down to pay for the car. The fee is for Document preperation.
Then came the insane part of the transaction. This manager named Christian stated the fee is non-negotiatiable, but that they don't want to sell me a car unless I'm happy. He went on to explain how important is was that when I was at a party, picnics, etc and talked about my experience with McDonald, they I tell everyone how great they are and the worst thing that could happen was me giving them negative feedback. I ordered this car and waited months for it. I had the money, but was arguing based on the principal. Do you think I'd walk away at this point?
For $489, he bought all the negative feedback in the world.
From what I subsequently learned, McDonald Automotive Audi is one of the worst ranked Audi dealers in the country.
IMHO - Stay away from McDonald Auto and go with Prestige. Prestige has been honorable every time I've dealt with them

I had no luck trying to buy a car from this dealership either, actually had no luck at Prestige Audi, so I went out of state, which was a bad experience in the end.
Audi USA can't get these dealers to give a buying experience that should equal the price of their product.
I am done buying Audi!

Makes me glad I ended up not buying my car from McDonald. I go exclusively to Stammler Audi in Boulder. They have always treated me fairly and without all of the BS that most dealerships try to ram down your throat. A real class act at Stammler IMHO.

The bad dealers seem to work REALLY hard at messing things up and upsetting some of us to the point where even the small things a decent dealer does mean so much more.
To the OP's comments, the only way we consumers can keep from being walked all over is to walk away. There are other great dealers out there that don't 'hide' their fees. Audi of Tulsa is one - I only paid $75 in total fees and being the skeptic that I am, I was anticipating some hidden fee of over $500 or $600 but it never happened. If they would have thrown that at me even after spending $860 on 2 one way tickets, I would have walked just to make the point.
Thanks for sharing your experience here. It helps others on the search.

I lived in Denver, and im pretty familiar with Mcdonald as being "for ****". I searched for 3-4 months to find the right TT. I ended up buying from Prestice Audi/Lambo in Miami. Total ***-clowns. Audi of Coral springs here in florida is the best dealership ive ever dealt with.
