Default Charged $600 per hour at Huntington Audi

I just returned from having my A-5 35k service at Audi of Huntington on Long Island. The oild & Filter were changed, as were the 4 spark plugs the pollen filter and windshield washer fluid was added. My vehicle was in the shop for 40 minutes while this service was done and they charged $399 for labor. When I complained to the service manager he said these fees are fixed by Audi. It's extremely excessive and comes out to a labor charge of $600 per hour. The total charge to have this work done incl tax was $596.45. This is a total rip off and as a forner BMW lessee for 9 years I am very sorry I switched to Audi.

LOL, That outfit used to charge an arm and a leg in the mid 70's when they were located next to the Huntington RR station. Next time you need work on your Audi, try the place I used to go when I lived in L.I. Not the cheapest place but a lot better than the Audi dealer.

Talk to Audi of America about it. For the record too, that's an hour's work at most in your driveway.

What they probably did was total up all the "labor time" for each individual job according to the labor book and smack you with it at once. dealerships are referred to as stealerships for a reason...

was there a mulitpoint inspection conducted? Was it done by an audi trained tech, were you offered a loaner, car wash, snacks, and a stamp in your maitenece book? Try to get all that at your indepedant shop.... It should have been a top to bottom check and included a test drive too. Plugs and oil may have been done in 45min but it was a mistake to deliver your car back in 45min. Had it taken 3 hours there would have been a complaint about how long it took I'm sure.

^^^ so in other words, $400 labor for those piddly services seems good to you? And you'd happily pay it? If so, I'd like to do your timing belt.

New S5 is like a 65,000 car. I want an audi tech doing my work. If you show up, and don't want the stamp, you can ask for oil change ($85) and a tune up ($140). They will prob do a multi point with the oil change anyway to try to sell you service and will prob get a test drive too. Its the stamp that cost soo much and the extras that make Audi a luxury car line, loaners, wash etc. A new A7 can be 100k. $400 is a day on the back 9.
