So suppose you have a chip tune for race gas (100 octane). How low should you run it on 93 before putting the race gas in and switching your tune? I can't imagine anyone buying a full tank of 100! If you run it down to 0 mi left and then put 5 gal of 100 octane, then you've still got 2 gal of 93 diluting it.

...Your gonna like this answer...
Put a 1/2" gate valve on the bottom of your tank and just before you fill up with your "race gas" drain the underpowered, evil "93 octane" onto the ever-absorbing mother earth. she'll thank you, the gas companies will thank you, and most importantly, you'll be proud you did!-author takes no responsibility in aforementioned advice and further, condones neither destroying our planet, nor contributing to the pocketbooks of the tyranical oil companies anymore than is necessary...Have a nice day.

Ya know, that would be a good way to periodically purge all of the funk in the bottom of your tank too!

The highest ive had was 1080km, which converts to 671 miles.

Granted i was really trying to be fuel efficient and just topped off the tank

Ill try to find a picture of it

Just so happens I read my manual from begining to end today. It stated that you have 2 gallons left once you hit Empty/0. So depending on your fuel mileage you should have plenty of time to find a gas station. Although it is not so good to suck up the crud that may be on the bottom of the gas tank.

Haha, try 1300 km left on a 70 liter tank.. that's about 807 miles... on my diesel a4 of course. I can barely do 300miles on my current petrol 2.0T ( which also has a smaller tank) Quattros - small tank, non-quattros - big tank.
