TCM replaced now new problems
I have an 2005.5 A4 2.0T with 72,000 that needed a new TCM which was installed by the dealer. That was a couple of months ago, recently I've noticed when I shift into reverse or drive and press on the gas it hesitates and shifts somewhat hard into the gear. I've read here that the transmission fluid is a lifetime fluid but what I'm wondering is when the dealer replaced the TCM would they have needed to access the transmission fluid? Is there a way to check the level?
Thanks for any advice!

In my opinion they should not have needed to touch the fluid to do this replacement. I just had my transmission rebuilt on my 2001 A6. There is plenty of good information here that should help you out. There is an entire procedure to filling the transmission that includes checking the temperature as you are filling and to my knowledge there is no easy way to check it. The fluid is lifetime but the filter inside the transmission is not. Ceck the service interval for the filter and that is how long your fluid will last.
