Default scan tool

Yep I gave up and just bought a cheep scan tool on ebay and reset the light, it said it would help diagnose ABS too, because that light is on also, but it fails to communicate with what ever it needs to talk to. So I'm guessing that would be the place to start on fixing the ABS. Or I could just pull the dash apart and remove the bulb. Right now it is in the shop for an alignment, of course it needed rear tie-rod, front ball joint and both front sway bar end links are bad. OMG money pit...

Default Audi A4 2004

I have an Audi A4 2004 (Turbo) 1.8L, its being running very rough took it for diagnosis, was advised to change the Airflow meter and finally the ECU. I sent the to ECU the uk for replacement it was confirmed that its fine and working. Please can someone help out here with an idea of the likely cause and solution.
Thanks can wait to hear from you

Frankfrank, you have to scan for codes to get an idea what's wrong. Not all codes will trip a check-engine light. Scan it first. And it's extremely unlikely that the ECU will ever need replacement.

For that you want to check into the pipe to be disconnected is probably because your engine running rough. I would suspect that your intake after the MAF sensor is interrupted. In this case, the ECU will not have an accurate reading of the amount of flying to your engine and cause hard starting, rough running conditions. Its help you.
