Default Radiator leak in '92 100csQ

Yesterday my coolant light flashed on while driving a relatively long distance. When I got home I noticed steam and a hissing sound coming from the radiator. I would rather not have to take it to a shop to fix this, I have replaced radiatos in the past on other (non Audi) cars. Having said that I am not in the mood to pull the radiator right now, and replacements are $300+ per my google search.

Does anybody have experience with those "stop leak" products in their Audis? How bout a good source fro replacement radiators?

stop leak just clogs the radiator. If leak is small enough it will stop it. lucky for you audi 100 is larger that audi 90.
you can find a rad for about 300 buks.

So, Is the stop leak stuff worth a try? What harm could I possibly do if I try the stop leak, does it gum up anything else?

For temporary fix stop leak will do good, hopefully its a small leak.

Good idea to get another rad as quick as you can though.

"Stop leak" products are merely stopgaps and may be a more expensive solution than a replacement radiator if they clog up the Audi's cooling system. ILooking for a replacement radiatordoesn't have to be hard if you know how to look around. Visit this auto radiator shop called Overnight Radiator and see if they can help you. I have bought a replacement from them and the guys were helpful. As for the price, well, there's nothing I can do about that.[8D]

If your car is a manual then you can purchase a new radiator for $175. If is an automatic then it is going to be a bit pricier.

These guys are very good. I usually recieve my order in 3-5 days and max at 8 days. ALL my orders and parts have been great quality.
