NEED HELP ! 1988 Audi 90 runs but very poorly ~~
Hello everyone. I'm a newbie with the Audi and need a major help from you guys.
I purchased a 1988 Audi 90 FWD from a private owner who just spent $1000 USD 4 month ago on some repairs but still not running right.
The service was done on the following area...
* Checked Engine compression - 200 PSI all around.
* Changed A/C open Denso system
* Repair cold staring valve
* Repair A/C vacuum lines and hoses
* Repair Injector seals
* And few things more but can't read the hand writing... will post pic of the paper soon.
Also looks like the fuel injector is pretty new also. (Will post pic also).
** Now bad part of the car ....
The engine starts however it runs extremely rough... (previous owner told me that the catalytic converter or the Oxygen Sensor is bad). I attempted to drive it but it does not rev up when the gear is in "D" some time stalls out. It does rev up when its in "N". I was able to drive it for few miles but I gived up and toward the car home.
I am not sure but seems like the fuel/air mixture is not right... ?? As of now, it sounds bad and smells like a burnt fuel from the tail pipe. It hardly keeps running.
Any advice on what to do for my situation ?
I was thinking of removing the catalytic converter to see if the problem would go away but before I do that, should I check anything else ?
Thank you for your help in advance.
PS: I will post some pics of the car very soon.
