Need to get back on the road!
Alright, My sister has a 1986 audi quattro, with the 5 cyl engine. From what she has told me it appears to run fine untell its warmed up, then starts to blow black smoke and runs like a pos (she says she couldnt get it over 40mph..?) I seem to remember hearing somthing about her boyfriend unplugging an o2 censor or somthing like that for similar problems and it ran fine, for a while...
Anyone have any idea what could be going on???
any help would be appreciated!

So, first of all have you read the codes on it??? take a look and read them first, if the vehicle is a turbo it will cost quite a bit to replace the 0x sensor, but if that is what it is the car will run great again....

Actually if you will open the hood find the fuse box pull the cover on the fuse box, you will see a relay with a fuse hole on it, turn the key off put a fuse in the relay for 4 seconds after you turn the key on, then pull the fuse out this will start the code cycle the check engine light will start to flash, it will flash a few times then stop then flaxh a few times and do this through an entire code... (Example like 3443) So flash 3 times pause flash 4 times pause flash 4 time pause flash 3 times pause, then it will pause for a few seconds then start over again, if you have a chilton repair manual it should list the codes with in it... try that....Turbo Rhatt

before you just stick the fuse in to check the codes, you need to take the car out and get it warmed up. take it for like a 10 minute drive, and try to get it to hit max boost at least once. then pop the hood (dont shut the car off!) stick the fuse into the top of the fuel pump relay for four seconds, then pull it out. the check engine light will flash on for 2.5 seconds, then stay off for 2.5 seconds. then it'll start flashing the first code.
