looking for estimated value of my 5kt
if and when i decide to sell my 87 5kt, i'd like to know about how much i could get for it. it's got a keyless entry system, runs and drives great, i'm putting new control arm bushings in it, rewiring parts of it, etc. its only pitfall is that its not a quattro and its auto.... I've put a lot of money into the car, probably more than i should've, and i'm curious to know how much i can make back

That's the best place to start to get an idea.
It's easy to put a lot more money into an older car than its worth, until of course it becomes a classic. But the work you put in can be gratifying and fun, and if you enjoy driving the car, I think it can be well worth the money you spent rather than being thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars in debt for something that's depreciating in value.

thats exactly why i'm workin on this car, i've always loved cars and working on them, and while at college i havent had the ability to really work on anything. My gf gave me this car as a gift(she got it for 600) so i had something to keep me busy. its been a lot of fun working on it, and i've been learning a lot...
