ok,we just got apearl white1987 Audi 5000CS Turbo Quattro with a 5 speedfor $1,900andwe need help finding cheap performance parts for it. We recently painted the brake calipers red and currently it needs a license plate bracket for the front. We plan on buying a new shift **** and pedal set for it. The roof needs a repaint because it sat under a tree and has sap spots. If anyone has any ideas as to what we can do to improve the performance at all, please let us know. Thanks!

First thing to do with this car is to drop a performance chip into it and put a better wastegate spring in. I did this with my 5000 and the increase in power is great. It pulls very strong through 3-8k. Be careful though as you may have to shim the wastegate spring to prevent overboosting which will hit the fuel cutoff and isn't good for the motor. This simple add-on does a lot for that car.

 

can you tell me how much the chip and wastegate spring cost lydo?

 

I think for the two parts it was less than $150 and not too much install time. Getting the spring in right can be fiddly but easy to get to. Just do some searching for the cheapest parts online.
