one of two things come to mind ( ignition switch ) because its common and a failed starter motor but that can be tested by shorting the live to the ground and see if it kicks but only for a second to prevent burn out

 

Thanks man. I could try the technique you mentioned. I need to know couple of things (i dont have an mechanics manual for this car) - Where is the starter located? Let me see if I am hearing you correctly - You are saying I should disconnect the ground to the starter for a moment and if it doesn't make a sound then I can figure it's the starter, but if the starter turns then it's the ignition switch?

I notice my ignition switch does sometimes get stuckwhen Iam start the car,and I can't get the wipers to work so I have to turn the key slightly towards the off position to get it working.
