Audi 200 Wiring Problem
So as I'm tearing more into this Audi I picked up, I find that there is a mess of a wiring system after an aftermarket receiver was put in. It is all hardwired, with out any connectors in a giant glob of electrical tape. The reason I tore it out in the first place was cuz the back speakers weren't working, and still aren't. The problem I'm having is that I'm not familiar with Audi wiring for stereos and I don't know what the colors represent, they are way different than my Honda. Any ideas on what each color means?

RE: Audi 200 Wiring Problem
That helped quite a bit. It is much appreciated. The way it was wired was really effed up, so I changed it according to your list. The back speakers don't work, still, so is there a fuse in them? Or which fuse would it be in the fuse box? I don't have an owners manual. Any other trouble shooting ideas?

RE: Audi 200 Wiring Problem
Dunno bout your car, since it had the aftermarket receiver, but i know that my 89 200QT has amplified speakers. I would imagine that if your car has them, there's a chance that no power is running to them. i don't really know too much about stereos, but that might be the problem. i'm actually looking into putting in an aftermarket head unit soon, but can't seem to find a wiring harness for the car. that might explain the tangled mess of wires and electrical tape you experienced. hopefully you can figure out the issue.
