Anyone interested in a 1994 90 quattro with superficial front end damage?
I have a 1994 90CS quattro Sport, 5-speed, climate control, engine runs fine (114k miles). I planned on getting a new A4 between Thanksgiving and the end of 2006 but the 90 has had a bad past few weeks.
The bad news:
First, my brother and law borrows it and doesn't pull the handbrake because he thought it was on level ground. It rolls into his brothers car and superficially damaged the front end. The engine didn't skip a beat. Also the drivers-side door doesn't open. The lock comes up fine but the locking mechanism doesn't disengage to unlock the door.
The good news:
The engine runs fine, gets near-new mileage. The car is very well equipped, has all options available besides the carbon fiber trim.
I was thinking of keeping the 90 before the late unpleasantness because it's still a nice car, especially as a secondary vehicle. But I don't think it'll pass state inspection due in January because the headlights need fixed and aimed right and I don't have a place or time to put it back into service. I hate to loose such a fine specimen of german engineering but maybe someone else has more resources to get it back on the road.
I'm also not interested in parting out the car because I don't have time, patience or the stomach to dismantle a car I've had for 5 years and come to admire so much. If someone doesn't buy it whole, I'll have to donate it, write it off on taxes for this year, and save me a few car payments on the new A4. The car is in Charlottesville or Richmond VA and it's up to you to drive/tow it away. All offers seriously considered. I don't have a digital camera or a camera phone so I can't provide pictures but you're welcome to visit in person. Best contact through email as opposed to pm through here.
