ALT. belt problem

Default ALT. belt problem

ok so i have a 91 90 quattro 20V....the alt belt keeps breaking ive gone through 3 belts in 4days...

could be a faulty tensioner, if there is not enough tension or too much, it could cause stress to the belt and make it snap

the belts are basiccally getting burnt then they squell and break... they arent to tight and arent to lose... ive replaced the alternator and still does it

are u sure the alignement from the alternator is right?? Could be a slight misalignment that would cause the belt to wear faster than usual.

And i would check the tensionner. There are specs for the tension on the belt. Make sure you respect them.

it seems like the pulley is seizing up and burning the belt but it new alt
