Wouldnt leaky injectors foul the plugs?

Not necessarily. The engine would have sat for a while right? Perhaps a few hours...perhaps overnight. The injectors would leak out their residual pressue which would sit on top of the pistons inside the chamber. It would then slowly leak past the rings into the oil. later it would burn off as the engine heats up. You wouldn't see it on the plugs in that case.

However, that lost pressure would have to be built up again as you are turning the engine over which explains the longer starting times.

Makes sense. The battery got a bit weak after so much cranking and so little driving. Took the battery out, charged it, and now it really doesn't want to start. I know the computer has to relearn, but I drove it around yesterday and it's still not working like it was. Acts like I'm not even pressing the accelerator for about 2 minutes. Sometimes it stalls. Oh the fun..

Interesting. I'm not positive here but I would say that has to do with the computer taking into account for the O2 sensor. A new O2 sensor won't fix anything though. Just sounds like the computer is a little wacky. wierd. All I can suggest here is to check that you didn't bump anything but with the battery in the back seat, how could you?

doble check on the vacum leaks

oxy sensor will not do anything , it only starts messin' with the comuter after the engine is at temp

get it started ... drive around for a while ... park it ... after 30 mins to an hour remove the spark plugs and get a flshlight and look inside the cyl foe wetness .... if there is somthin' wet ... get new injectors

leaky injectors cause alot of problems ... hard start ... rough idle ... stalling ... misfire .... bogging

I think it was bad injectors, it would always smoke excess fuel after it finally did start. Anyhow, got frustrated and sold it. Wife didn't want to drive it anyways. Thanks anyways for everyone's help. Hopefully it'll help someone else in the future.

I don't see the regulator bolted to the fuel distributor on my 84. Could it be the thing that's attached to the driver's side of the cylinder head?

You're going to have to tell me what model 1984 audi you have and then I'll post a picture of what you're looking for.
