RE: 87 5000 CD Turbo Starting Problem.
check the wastegate, it is bolted directly to exaust manifold, paralel to turbo. there is a spring inside, as it gets old it tends to lower its K constant. (gets softer) buy NEW spring if you can and replace if posible. or new wastegate. or add extra spting.

ALSO check for boost leaks. all the hoses. if it makes a whoosh sound.

RE: 87 5000 CD Turbo Starting Problem.
So ive pretty much solved the problem wit boost but i still have the issue of it not starting when the engine is cold. or when the engine is over 75 degress C. its really anooying as i have to try and start it once then wait 20 seconds, try again, mayb get lucky and have it start. if not i have to do it like 4-7 times total before it starts. anyone know why this would happen?
