Default 81 400 performance options

I just bought a 81 4000 2 door 5cyl 5 speed. I have looked at the brakes and those solid rotors look pretty inadequate. Is there a vented rotor I can swap to the front? How about the rears anything swappable from anouther audi? This car is fast as hell but is there some cheap stuff I can do to the motor to juice it up?

brakes, need to find same size, some venders wont even know if comparatable, just take sizes of the original and go comparing. That what I did with mine oil filter.
For the motor, there is no chiping option, only as I can see is turbo swap.

You got your self an old audi, so cupe with it.
Put in roll cage, swap in some power, huge @ss wing in back and go ralling. You got AWD, right?

I wana do the same, but with 5000 or UrQuatro.

You could probably lift parts off of the 1987.5 Coupe GT, but that would be sacrilege as the 1987.5 Coupe GT is very highly sough by collectors. The GT came with large vented front disk brakes and solid disks in the back.

For the motor, find a cheap 5000 Turbo and drop the motor in.

Well I have rules i have to follow. My car cant be turboed and it is fwd. I am allowed to swap parts from newer Audi onto my car but the powertrain has to stay pretty much stock. There are a few newer Audi in the wreckers I should go see exactly with ones and you guys can tell me what will fit. For the motor I was thinking like a head swap or piston swap something like that that is inside and the tech guys wont know about. My car is also in need of serious suspension work. The PO hacked up the rear suspension and made it so low the trunk bottoms out over bumps. What rear struts can I put in to givre it stock ride height again?

well there are other ways of doing. How ever from the engine you have right now, extra 10HP is the maximum without getting turbo.

I would get rear sway bar, lower springs, updated front sway bar, good tires, spoiler, update breakes with new rims, and last but not least TURBO

I would check the springs first couse if its low the spring is bad, the schocks just absorbes the shock nothing to do with hight.

More quastions ask.

Now you are asking for it!

How deep are your pockets? If you want more Hp from 2.22 motor without a turbo. You will have to; port the head, install larger valves, HO cam, high CR pistons, bore out the motor, drop in a stroker kit, install a free flowing exhaust, a larger radiator, possibly a new EFI, etc. All this will have to be custom built since the aftermarket for the 4K is dead. All this will give you about 2.5L with 150 ~ 165 BHp. I have never heard of anyone bolting on a 20V head on a 2.22 motor. This will probably cost you at least 10X more than a complete 5000 Turbo donor car. Even if you do all this work the turbo motor will cost less, be more user friendly, have a lot more torque and will blow the doors off the normally aspirated 2.22 motor.

If you really want to be get creative without a turbo…

Well my car already has the updated front sway bar and its lowerd but way to much I got to find some better springs. I dont think I saw a rear sway bar. How can I get camber in the rear wheels? I plan on circle track racing and solo so would be nice to lean the rear wheels the front has already been modified.

You will have to do almost evrything coustom, dont forget to put roll cage it there.

I'm planing to get 5000 model becouse they come already with the turbo, with the quatro, couse then it would be easy to put the sway bar in rear. and really get the car fluying.

palning to get about 350-500HP in it. so well will have money, shurly do.

or maybe the UrQuatro and make it into RS1 model, I still love them.
