5000S Quattro Performance options
I like my 5000 S Q , and though it's not a turbo is there anything I can do to get more power? An aftermarket intake, exhaust, chip ect... puting a Turbo on the car is not an option. I already have a drop in K&N air filter. also is 20-22 MPG good for the highway? I know Fuel mileage and performance in the same post[&:], but I have experienced in the past that adding a better flowing exhaust and intake nets me more power and better MPG when I am not using the power. Maybee somone can lead me in a direction to add a little power and better economy to my not so popular model!

there is alternative fuels. then you can turbo and still get close to what you used to have. the main advantege of having alternative fuel is that you can lean out when on highway.
all you nead is to find a system that split idle and drive system. where you can tune idle alone and tune drive alone. the best part is that it is clean, engine long life, little polution and you can get as much as 30MPG on highway.
there are two alternatives: CNG and Propane (LPG).
CNG is 130-140octane while LPG is 105-115 octane. I recomend using LPG becouse you will have as close as to a tank of fuel, while on CNG you will get as close as 2/3 tank. CNG in total heavy while LPG in total lighter. also both will take out about 1/2 trunk out, considering that you dont have gassoline tank behind the passenger seats in the back.
you can run as close as to 18-20:1 A/F mix and still work. and becosue low compresion rate no knoking can be produced.
there is more, just ask and I will type up more.

Dude More power means more fuel. so if you get more power your consumption of gassoline will go up. But there is another solution, it is to use bigger turbo, it will create a lag were you do not have it, so if you drive the car before the lag it will increase your economy.
also BadLuckAudi has a good point, small updates are nothing, but turbo is.
Also your car is cool, I want to buy same as yours and update it and go race outside.

Lol NOS works but a turbo is just so easy to do to those cars, I mean you can pick up the whole motor for cheap and swap it in no prob, I have done it twice once in to an 84 4000cs and then just put a newer motor in to a 90 200 which is essentially the same car as yours
