Default 1990 Audi 100 E1 Ethenol question

We have owned our Audi for a few years now and our teenage son just noticed that on all of the windows there is a sticker with E1 circled. From what we have seen this means Ethanol. Does anyone know if these cars were designed to run on Ethanol? We could not find anything on a Google search. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

thats a type of the window, E1 means thats its singe glass. the front glass is E2 meaning its double glass, ir douplex, the E3 is triple.

You can run almost any car on ethanol, but ignition and fuel delievery would have to be modified.

I know for sure, you can use like up to 10% of ethanol in gas on these cars.

Adding some ethanol to gas can benefit slightly, but also can rupture the fuel lines, destroy fuel pump, and can clean out carbon deposits easily, increase MPG slightly, can couse instand death, propote longer engine life.

If you go for a long treap that will eat away your gas tank on one way, then you can add like a 2 pints of ethanol to gasoline, it will clean up evrything.

2 pints can be 2 oz, I dont remember exact.

I know that, I just dont remember the quantaty or proportion right. But I saw what can happen after using a whole tank of gas w/etahnol or alchohol, the valves are so clean, no carbon deposit what so ever. exaust manifold becomes so clean, there is no black powder but slighgt powder.

Its not recomended for use many times, but sometimes you have long treaps, I would use it. You know of Seafoam, yep, you can use like 1 can per 10 gallons of fuel, in 1 can there is 50% ethanol in it. So basically thats what you do.

the corosion takes long time to accure, so if you use it like 1 time a year, then you wont have to worry about the carbon or any horor.

basically whats ethanol/alchohol. Ethanol usuall is 95% alchohol and 5% gas, thats your basic ethanol you can buy. Alchohol is 97% alchohol and 3% water.
The natural properties of ethanol is awsome, the octane rating is high, like 130 or something.
the formula is C2H6O What does that mean, well it very close to the gas. Actually its somewhat between natural gas and petrolium gas.
but combustion is very good C2H5OH + 3 O2 → 2 CO2 +3 H2O means it takes 3 oxygen and then produces 2 carbon dioxide, Plants can digest, and 3 H20 plants eat that. Meaning its a freandly enviornment fuel.

In any case, it hels in many ways, but can hurt if over used.

no more than 15% ethanol ... and all the gas stations already have it mixed, at least 10% for summer fuel ... the owners manual has some stuff in there about ethanol fuel and also http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/troubl...g/trouble.html here somwhere was more info about the fuel

Well i imply to use etahol ones a year, like when the oportunity of running a whole tank in a day or at least 2 days. not using it every day. And manufactureres allow maximum of 10% of ethanol in there cars for constant use.

Ethanol is a natural lead. Mother nature's octane booster. Guess what is in the octane booster that you buy from a store.
