Default 10V and 20V Question

Is the 10V and the 20V block the same or different? I ask this because i have a 89 200 with a blown engine and i really havent gotten around taken it apart yet and i have a 87 5000 cs engnie going into the 89 200. So if the head was good on the 89 and its a 20v would i be able to swap heads to the 87 block?

Is the '89 a 20v? I've never heard of a 20v in a 200 that old. I thought that the earliest 200 20v was the '91 200 quattro. Is the 5000cs motor a turbo or NA, all 200's were turbo, but not all 5000cs's were turbo. If you plan on keeping the turbo, you need to make sure that the head and pistons you are using are from a turbo motor to keep the compression low enough and the sodium filled valves. The block should be the same between your 5000 and 200 motors, but check the water passage on the front left of the block and make sure that it matches up with the head.

I know that my '89 200 quattro is a 10vt, I sure would like to find a 20vt motor also. You'll have to run a standalone ECU like Megasquirt or the 034 unit to control the FI.

Stock for now, I'm going to chip it and put a stiffer wastegate spring within the next few months, and then I might go with a Megasquirt or 034 EFI instead of the CIS.
