Audi are marking the passing of 500,000 worldwide TT sales by releasing a special version of the TTS.

The 272PS TTS Limited Edition, priced from £38,860 in coupe form and £42,320 as a roadster, will be delivered to 500 customers worldwide – with just 120 in the UK.

In the TTS Limited Edition coupe, the 2.0litre TFSI engine is linked to either six-speed manual or six-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmissions.

Equipped with the latter, it can hit 62mph from rest in 5.3seconds, reach a governed top speed of 155mph, and offers 36.7mpg economy potential.

Donned in Nimbus Grey for coupes and Imola yellow for roadsters, both models feature a TT RS-style fixed rear spoiler and upgraded 19inch five-arm rotor design alloy wheels.

Inside, a ‘1 of 500′ plaque in the door insert underlines their exclusivity, while numerous additional driver aids and entertainment extras come as standard.

These include DVD-based satellite navigation, Bluetooth, Audi Music Interface (AMI) iPod connection, BOSE sound system, rear parking sensors, cruise control, and an interior light package.

Exclusive TTS body styling, a quad-tailpipe sports exhaust system, TTS sports suspension, xenon headlamps, electronic climate control, heated front sports seats and matt-brushed aluminium inlays are also included.
