What Brand of 4 G SD card works
I got my B8 A4 advant 2.0T at the end of March, the manual stated that the sound system will support up to 4G SD card, most of the 4G SD are HCSD, and I tried with several brands, the system didn't recognize the card, anyone have the 4G working?

From what I can gather HC SD cards do not work. It has to be a STANDARD SD card not HC. Some forums say that they can use the full 4 GB capacity but I'm not sure about this. For some reason my computer running Windows XP will only reformat my one 4GB card to a 2GB capacity ?? so to be honest I've just stuck to standard 2 GB cards.(Sandisk Ultra II ) I find these adequate. The number of CD's you can get on a card depends on the quality (bit rate) you have your mp3's imported at.
I've gone for quite a high quality at 256 kbps which approximates to about 115 MB per CD. I get between 7-11 CD's onto a 2 GB card which I am happy with. You will get more CD's on if you prefer a lower rate and therefore lower quality. The following table might help you decide on what mp3 rate you want your computer to import your CD's at. You can set the rate by going to tools - options etc. on Windows Media Player.
320 kbps = approx 144 MB per CD = Highest quality
256 kbps = approx.115 MB per CD
192 kbps = approx. 86 MB per CD
128 kbps = approx. 57 MB per CD = Poorest quality
Hope this helps

Useless sd reader...need help
RSN-E; sd card reader problem for brand new owner. I've read many of the other posts and have to say that I am not a technology dumbass, but still can't get the sd card reader to read either of my 2GB sd cards...one is a Lexar, one is a Kodak. I've made sure they are formatted with FAT32, I've even re-ripped my cds directly to Windows Media Center so I didn't have to worry about converting the itunes music. I then dragged the media center files and dropped them in to the sd file. The sd file shows all the new music while in the computer, but is not recognized by the car...it says "loading" then goes blank. So the card isn't nearly full (191mb) and I made sure it wasn't an sdhc...still no music in the car from the sd! I even tried wiping the card and reformatting to FAT32...and also I tried to just drag music directly from the itunes library and drop it onto the sd folder and it worked but was not recognized by the car. Help please!

That is confusing. If your car is still under warranty take it back and see what the dealer says. Take your SD cards as well and let them try on a showroom car to see what happens. It could be your audio system at fault.
Interested to know the outcome.
