I have always used the classic "butterfly" pattern with moderately high bass, medium mid tones and moderately high treble. Sounds pretty good to me.

Post all settings in clicks from the middle (neutral) one.
I like to go 2 clicks positive of center on treble and mid with bass at 3 clicks. But I have an Avant so it could vary between it and the sedan...

air pressure building in the cabin and no place to escape but the sunroof. crack a window and it goes away. just need an opening to release the pressure.

Your stereo has a built in feature to compensate for noise, higher background noise increases the volume. This can be adjusted by you in the settings. With air pressure build up and noise, the sound systems fluctuates due to this. Yes, opening a window will help.

yeah .. butterfly mode is best. By the way, if you are using ipod or media card, be sure to adjust the feed in maximum, in audio options of the MMI. Otherwise the sound will never be the best none for the devices.
