Rear Brakes

Rear Brakes
I purchased my 2011 A4 in May of 2011 with 9,000 miles on it (certified through Audi dealer) and now have 23,000 miles.
Last June my #3 fuel injector blew and then last July some safety switch broke in the brake pedal and the car would only idle (even at half throttle). Both times I had it towed back to Schaumburg Audi and the repairs were done under warranty.
Now my rear brakes are shot and I had to get new pads and rotors for $600. I always do my own work but didn't have the time right now to replace the brakes myself.
Is it normal for the brakes on an Audi to wear out so fast (especially the rear ones??)? I have always done much better than 23,000 on all my other cars.

You should be doing ALOT better. Most B8's usually get 30k or more... I have seen up for 45k on first sets. Especially in the rear.
The rear has Electronic Parking Brake which has to be released electronically via a scan tool.
But, The economy is still slow for most dealers... I've seen it in my dealer as well. You may have a desperate tech needing some hours and trying to sell you something you don't need.
Me personally. I would want to see my pads and be shown the measurement. 3mm is when the warning light usually comes on in the front. So thats where i would want to see them in the rear as well.
I know you want to trust your dealer.... but make them earn it

A4's don't have rear brake sensors. The rear will usually last twice as long as the front pads. Were your front pads recently replaced? Strange if the rears went before the fronts. I found out about the lack of rear sensors the hard way, new rotors & pads.

At 9k miles first I'd ask why they wore out so quick when like you said, you consistently get more miles out of brakes on all the cars you drive. So the issue isn't with your driving. Not when the rears wear out way before the fronts. Ask them what direction they will take so this doesn't happen to you again in another 9-10k. Yours isn't the only 2011 A4 rolling in their shop.
