Default Poll: Did you purchase "Audi Care"

If you answered No, how are you planning on performing your scheduled services?

Yes for me. Persuaded the dealer to throw this into the deal for free. I'm sort of impatient, so getting a loaner car while getting an oil change/maintenance was really important for me.

No. The closest dealer is over an hour away, and from what I gathered from the dealer is that it only covers the scheduled maintenance and when I looked in the book the scheduled maintenance for the time period are just oil changes and one set of spark plugs. And the first oil change was going to be covered by audi anyway, so I personally didn't think it was a good deal for me.

I decided against it as well, figuring that it would be much cheaper to use an independent shop for my maintenance. However, I'm about halfway to my 15K checkup and I'm yet to find one. Anyone know of any good Audi shops in North or Central Jersey?

Default I did get it but it was free

I did get Audi Care but only because it was free under the Supplier Program. If it wasn't included I probably wouldn't have. IMO the services it covers doesn't add up to the asking price.

Thank you ALL for your input. My question is to all of you that said NO. The Dealer informed me that I cannot take the car to an independent shop because they don't have the required AUDI Computer to reset the service light.

The Dealer informed me that you can no longer input a combination of keys on the steering wheel to reset the service light. This can only be done at a certified Audi Dealer.

Several shops including EZ-LUBE and JIFFY LUBE informed me that they do not have this device.

Any info on this would be great.

Besides spark plugs and oil, the maint required to 45K includes pollen filter changes (2), trans fluid change (1) and brake fluid change (1).

Okay, so here's how it went down: dealer wanted to sell me the $650 care so I said let me get back to you. I'm in metro Phoenix area where there are two well know reputable audi shops that specialize in audi/VW. I called them to discuss. They said that of course dealer will try to get you to go in on this plan so we went through all items needed until 45K, it came back in the $650 range. So you're wondering, that's the same price, well guess what, dealer is going to charge you for tire rotations! Shop said no way, they would do it for free since car is up getting oil changed as it. And yes, they can reset the service light with their VAG-COM unit and they get all the bulletins from Audi so that car is up to date. And finally, the dealer is about 45 min from me vs. the shop only 10min so I opted with the local shop.

So bottom line is if you don't have a reputable Audi shop in your area, Audi care may be a good option. Also you can tell them at your 5K service to disable the 15K oil change reminder or set it to 200K and you'll never get the light, you just need to remember to get the changes done.
