PCV Valve Question

PCV Valve Question
Hey guys,
So my MIL came on for the first time, read the codes, and she's throwing faults P0507 and P2279
After doing a little research and getting some good info from this forum, (thank you btw) I've narrowed it down to at least a bad PCV valve most likely. There is plenty of negative pressure in the crankcase, oil around filler cap, and bad idle when cap is off.
Now I went ahead and ordered a rebuild kit from autozone, with a new diaphragm and whatnot, in hopes that it might clear up my fault codes.
In the meantime, I'm wondering if anyone has opened the PCV valve and cleaned the inside of it, including the diaphragm, and have it work again. I'm suggesting this only if it's still intact, not cracked or damaged of course. Might a cleaning help a stuck diaphragm?
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance!

Well although nobody posted back I figured I would update.
Took the cap off the PCV and found this....
I was relieved to see that the diaphragm was damaged. Replaced the diaphragm and cap, cleared the codes out, and so far so good.
I also replaced the spark plugs and found this..
The plug on the top was from cylinder 2. When I went to pull it, it was really loose, like it was never torqued properly in the first place. As you can see the plug is basically destroyed, and was probably misfiring like a mother.

PCV and oil consumption
Appreciate the response. I am actually taking it to the dealer. I learned that Audi will cover the Excessive oil consumption issue I have. We're sucking down a quart every 3 to 400 miles under normal driving conditions. I called the dealer and they said I was out of warranty and then called AoA and they confirmed that I am NOT out of warranty even at 79k miles on a 2010 CPO that we got in 2011. If the dealer doesn't address the PCV issue along with the oil issue, I'll replace the PCV myself. Hopefully this process goes quickly because my state inspection is up at the end of the month.
