New to Audi's and new to the forum
Hey folks. I just purchased a 2013 A4 2.0T Premium CPO with 36K on the odo two days ago and it's the best car I've ever driven - and I know it's just the base model. I absolutely love it! I'm coming to Audi from a 2008 Saab 9-5, which the wife now drives. I gotta say, the more I learn about Audi the more I like Audi. Unless this new-to-me car is a real lemon and really lets me down it's pretty safe to say I'm going to be an Audi man from this day forward!
I will apologize in advance for any stupid questions I will probably ask in the future. I like to wrench on my own vehicles (most of the time) and I have a lot to learn about how Audi does things, and that's OK because I managed to learn Saabs, and they are very quirky. All that said, I promise to search for answers before asking.
Anyways, thanks and let the learning begin!

Welcome and I am in a similar boat. This is my 2nd Audi and wanting to learn more as well, but the forums I have found so far seem very quiet. If you happen to find a forum with more activity let me know. I Just bought my car last week and hoping the car as well will be as reliable as my past cars. My last Audi (2002 Allroad) I sold after reading so much on the forums with issues and costs of other owners.

I wish that was the case but already reading about engine failures, oil consumption etc. I had an Infiniti G that I sold with 112k and ran perfect still. I just wanted a change of pace since I drive so much. Bought my wife an 08 Lexus is250 and that is a solid beautiful car. I would say the quality of that 08 is better than my 14 A4. Love the German interior and hoping it will be a reliable car as well.

I have 239k on my A6 and I bought the 2011 A4 with 99k and it now has 115k. Yes, it does "lose" a little oil (about a quart every 800-100 miles) which is frustrating. But otherwise it is a fine car. And the 2.7T is a great beast, never leaked a drop, wonderful in winter, but starting to lose it's mind (ECU) in small ways.

Well hope my little A4 plays out. I am having the APR Stage 1 done Tuesday and invested in the clearbra and tinted windows since I am in AZ. Plan on keeping this for 5-7 years. The oil burning thing is funny because my Porsche 911 turbo did the same thing. Must be a German thing.

Starting in 2012, Consumer Reports has the A4 as a very reliable car, across the board. And, Audi is CR's #1 auto maker for the 2016 model year.
Also, for 3 year old car owner satisfaction ratings (as in, "Yes, I'd definitely buy this car again") CR reports the A4 is the #1 car in the compact luxury car segment and the A6 and A7 are numbers 1 and 3 for the medium/large luxury car segment. In short, I don't think you have much to worry about with your new A4.
As for oil use, I've put over 1000 miles on my new-to-me A4 in the last couple of weeks and according to the car I'm still topped right off with oil. Really would like a dipstick to make sure, but the car says it's still plum full of oil. I've read where others do use a little oil and others like me that don't. I haven't seen a good explanation anywhere yet why there are some that use oil and some that don't. It does seem to be pretty common, though.
